Synopsis:

Sabrina Spellman has just made the hardest decision of her life: She’s leaving behind her beloved friends at Baxter High. Now it’s time to follow the path of night and find her way among the witches and warlocks at the Academy of Unseen Arts.

Sabrina has always been good at the school thing, but now she has a whole new world to navigate. Her power is growing daily, but it comes with a high price. She must always remember her new allegiances and the cost they have on her friends… and on herself.

And then there’s her new classmates. Prudence, Dorcas, and Agatha are friends, kind of, but can Sabrina trust them? And what about Nick Scratch? He’s as charming as ever, but will his feelings for Sabrina last

Review:

Daughter of Chaos is the sequel to Season of the Witch and it was just as amazing!!! Seriously, Daughter of Chaos picked right up were Season of the Witch finished and the characters still held their amazing personalities and life choices, whilst being friends, high school students and everyday witch and human chaos.

If I was to be critical, I felt as though this wasn’t as dark as the first one and in the ‘dark’ sense if breezed over it and didn’t provide much detail around the dark elements? That could just be me but I think that Season of the Witch embraced the dark element and described it, which I am here for. Not everything is love potions and flower crowns, witchcraft is meant to be dark.

Daughter of Chaos starts the day of the Greendale Thirteen incident but their encounters, as I mention in the above paragraph, weren’t as detailed so it lacked the suspense that it needed, especially for someone who has seen the TV show and has only read the book. Though you do get the chance to see more character development in this book, mostly around Nick, Prudence, Harvey and Sabrina. You get to see more of their personalities and thoughts shine and it gives reason to their actions which helps you find the character more relatable.

Overall I liked Daughter of Chaos, the writing was beautiful and the characters feel real to the TV show. This one just wasn’t as dark…
