Synopsis:
The second instalment in the all-new series from the masterful, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater!
Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Review:
This ain’t gonna be pretty guys. This book was shit.
I actually hated this book. A lot…
Let’s start with Blue. I really hate her. I mean if I had to give up eating cheesy pizza for the rest of my life to kill her off. I would. And I bloody love pizza. I consistently found myself rolling my eyes and swearing under my breath, every time Blue opened her mouth. I just couldn’t help it, she was unbearably annoying in this book. For instance, Blue gets aggravated that Gansy throws away money at anything he likes. And at one point her reaction was “there are starving people in the world or save the wildlife.” I’m sorry but you can’t throw stones at a mirror love. You can’t bitch and moan that Gansy should put his into something important when you don’t even lift a finger from your stupid hand to assist in those causes yourself. If Blue was running around and saving the environment I would think differently, instead she follows them around on a ghost hunt and doesn’t follow what she preaches. BACK OF BLUE NO ONE INVITED YOU ANYWAY!!! Well besides Adam but you know.
Other than Blue I thought the overall story was draining my life. It dragged on and on and on. I felt like I was slowly dying from a paper cut. Or maybe the pain of suffering from a ton of paper cuts would be better than ready this book. Everything was over explained, there was way too much detail for soo little going on. It was a fantasy version on watching grass grow, all 445 pages. To sum it up. Gansy did this. Blue did that. Magic happens because why the hell not. Characters react like so. This happens because what I says go. And here is the masterpiece you will enjoy, even if it was dull
I could honestly whinge forever, or maybe just about how much of annoying turd Blue is but how about some fun things from the book? That may it doesn’t look like I have anger issues with this book.
Adam somehow got whiney and annoying in this book? Why would this even happen? He went from a cute heartthrob in the first book and in this book Adam would have complained about the fact he had to breathe air. It was all boring and I honestly did not need to have Adam shoved in my face, though it did help predict how the ending was going to happen.
Ronan gets a pet raven. Can he get any cooler?
Noah was thrown out the window. I mean I actually laughed at this part and my spirits lifted.. for the remainder of the page that is.
The Gray Man was amazing, I actually looked forward to his chapters.
Overall? Was it better then the first book? Bahahaha NO! I literally gave this book one star but I plan on continuing the series for two reasons. The first would have to be the Raven Boys, ummm they are amazing! And secondly I figure that this series can’t get any worse than it already is right? So the third instalment might actually be somewhat interesting. Or I hope it is!
