Bossy Pants, Tina Fey

Synopsis:

Before Liz Lemon, before “Weekend Update,” before “Sarah Palin,” Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both these dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey’s story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon — from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we’ve all suspected: you’re no one until someone calls you bossy.

Review:

Let’s just start by saying that I admire Tina Few, after I finished the book.

As an actress I never followed her around and loved her work but I have to admit I would find myself occasionally laughing at her witty one liners in 30 Rock while it played in the background and I was meant to be reading a separate book.

This wasn’t a book that I really wanted to buy nor read but it was one that if I came across it second hand in an opp shop, I’d give it a damn good go. Kinda like the wedding dresses that they have, you and your friends always try it on for a bit of fun but you have no intention of getting serious with it.

Unlike the wedding dresses that have a stale smell to them, I found myself literally laughing out loud at work, while listening to the audio book. And after my laughter died down I really wished that I had a private cubical, because the judging faces weren’t pleasant.

After finishing the book and learning a little insight to the real Tina Fey, I will actually go out of my way to buy this book now instead of listening to the audiobook on someone else audible account. It was funny, brilliant and actually snort laugh out loud.
