Review:
Lookkkkk a book about one of my fav villains. Alright, most of the villains are my favourite but Jafar is always underestimated as an awesome villain.
The very start of A Whole New World, is pretty in line with the much loved Disney films but Aladdin didn’t rub the lamp, Jafar did! From there the story gets darker and it is literally the best Return of Jafar if I ever did see one (only true Disney nerds will get that)
While we have the darkness and evil threatening to take over, bring on the leading lady Jasmine who is completely independent in the movies but in this book she is strong, a rebel and ready to take on Jafar herself!! I love that her strong character came to light in this book, instead of her kinda waiting for Aladdin to save the day.
Characters aside, this book was heavily world dominant which is brilliant since darkness technically took over and changed it up and the writing??? Well Liz has shown through once again with a gorgeous dark tale.
Whilst it was a gorgeous and gloomy read, a part of me missed Genies humour. He didn’t have nearly the same amount of sass as usual and even in this dark tale it would have made the book more enjoyable to read. After all Genie makes the tale.
