So This is Love, Elizabeth Lim

Thank you Scholastic for this book in exchange for an honest review

Synopsis:

What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Unable to prove that she’s the missing princess, and unable to bear life under Lady Tremaine any longer, Cinderella attempts a fresh start, looking for work at the palace as a seamstress. But when the Grand Duke appoints her to serve under the king’s visiting sister, Cinderella becomes witness to a grand conspiracy to take the king-and the prince-out of power, as well as a longstanding prejudice against fairies, including Cinderella’s own Fairy Godmother. Faced with questions of love and loyalty to the kingdom, Cinderella must find a way to stop the villains of past and present . . . before it’s too late

Review:

Have to say it but this wasn’t my favourite one. While the twisted tales are meant to be a complete twist on what the original classic happens, I found that this doesn’t stray too far from the original tale (not the Disney version) but I kinda hoped for something a lot more…. Original? Possibly make this story a little darker? It could just be me that found the plot really predictable since it didn’t stray too far from the Grimm tales of Cinderella.

So after the Prince doesn’t find Cinderella, she begins to set a life up for herself and becomes a strong and independent woman. Finding work as a seamstress, Cinderella’s ability gets her work in the castle but there is something odd happening and she finds herself in the middle of it.

Basically the characters were brilliant and I love them (I mean who wouldn’t?!?!) and the writing was gorgeous, I just didn’t find the plot that enthralling
