Review:
Did someone say retelling?
I have to admit, this version of King Author wasn’t my absolute fave but I do love the chance for a female to do free the land just as well as any man could, which is one of the striking parts of this book.
You get bold characters which is always great, to the point where I don’t think I could pick a favourite? Okay I could, it was Nimue and the whole story is told through her point of view and I loved her. The illustrations were gorgeous but I needed a little more depth to the characters descriptions and world building, those fell a little flat for me. But the pacing had me applauding!!
This interesting tale is one that I would recommend to a more middle grade audience rather than the standard YA. But over all it was a lovely read it just lacked the detail I needed.
