Review:

I haven’t read anything by Megan Goldin before but I am always after new and interesting thriller or crime writers and I am pleased to say Goldin didn’t disappoint!

Our leading lady Rachel Krall is on her way to cover the trial of Scott Blair in Neopolis for the latest season of her podcast titled Guilty or Not Guilty. Emerged in town that is devastated and torn apart as their Olympic class swimmer is accused of raping a high school student. But that’s not all Rachel is going to come across as she gets some notes get placed in her car.

Goldin has a brilliant way to deliver tough subjects to write about such as rape in a detailed yet disturbing way to ensure that even a sensitive reader would be able to enjoy this book. And though the topic of rape is generally off putting for some people, I would like to remind you that one in three woman have experienced sexual assault. So don’t shy away from the taboo topic, make it a topic that is constantly chatted about until changes in society are made.

Over all, this was a really great read, I loved the pace of the book and the heavy topics that it deals with. To be honest I would have liked to see a little more suspense within the book, but that is my personal taste.
