Thank you so much Penguin Teen Australia for this book in exchange for an honest review

Synopsis:

Iris has spent most of her teenage years trying to avoid the weirdness that sticks to her like tar. But when her eldest sister, Grey, goes missing under suspicious circumstances, Iris learns just how weird her life can get: horned men start shadowing her, a corpse falls out of her sister’s ceiling, and ugly, impossible memories start to twist their way to the forefront of her mind.

As Iris retraces Grey’s last known footsteps and follows the increasingly bizarre trail of breadcrumbs she left behind, it becomes apparent that the only way to save her sister is to decipher the mystery of what happened to them as children.

The closer Iris gets to the truth, the closer she comes to understanding that the answer is dark and dangerous – and that Grey has been keeping a terrible secret from her for years

Review:

This was hauntingly beautiful!

House of Hollow is one of those books that lives up to the hype and honestly one of the best books I read in 2021!

Grey, Vivi and Iris are three sisters that disappeared as children that turned up a month later with no recollection of what happened to them, where they went or who took them. Now that they are older, they have gone their separate ways, living strong, independent lives. Grey is a supermodel, Vivi is in a punk band and Iris decided to stay in high school. The sisters try to live normal lives, though there is no normal for Hollow’s. After Grey goes missing, the two sisters embark on a journey to find her. The more they get closer to their sister, the more the truth about their past rises to the surface.

There is honestly nothing I hated about this book. It is dark, haunting, horrifying and honestly it made my soul tingle with joy!! House of Hollow deserves all the praise, every single thing about this book exceeded any expectation I had. The cover is stunning, the writing is twisted and soothing and the story was bloody fantastic!

This is honestly one of the most amazing books I have read! We need more haunting and dark reads like this!!
