Synopsis:
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkeness bind them
In ancient times the Rings of Power were crafted by the Elven-smiths, and Sauron, The Dark Lord, forged the One Ring, filling it with his own power so that he could rule all others. But the One Ring was taken from him, and though he sought it throughout Middle-earth, it remained lost to him. After many ages it fell into the hands of Bilbo Baggins, as told in The Hobbit.
In a sleepy village in the Shire, young Frodo Baggins finds himself faced with an immense task, as his elderly cousin Bilbo entrusts the Ring to his care. Frodo must leave his home and make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ring and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose.
Review:
I think this is about my 5th reread and every time I still fall in love with these adorable and amazing characters over and over again.
Tolkien is a literal genius and doesn’t over explain but gives faint details so we can create the world and characters in our head. Or if you have watched the movies, you can picture those hotties too.
Fellowship of the Ring is the first volume in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and it’s filled with all the epicness. This book is set around Frodo Baggins who inherits a ring from Bilbo and is now responsible for the one ring, which if it falls into the hands of the enemy means the complete destruction of Middle Earth. The future of the world and its inhabitants rest on a little hobbit, who must travel to Mount Doom and destroy the ring in the fires that it was once forged.
There isn’t a character to hate. I mean really there isn’t. They are all so lovely and caring for one another and it just kills me with all their cuteness. They are all filled with determination, loyalty and pride of who they are and what race they are as well. Even though there is the occasion race taking a dig at another race, they still know that they have a mission to share and it is priority and I love it. SO mature and cute and gahh I could squeeze their little faces.
For those who haven’t read the books but have seen the movies, I would still suggest reading the books. There are only a few minor details that are different but overall the movies generally stick to the books which is fantastic to see.
Literally there is nothing I can negatively say about this book because it is amazing in every single way and I love it.
