Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian, Rick Riordan

Synopsis:

Most people get presents on their birthday. I get a prophecy that could save or destroy the world. That’s how it is when you’re the son of Poseidon, bad things will happen when I turn sixteen – because I’m the one who gets to decide the fate of the entire world. But no pressure. This is the one where Kronos, Lord of the Titans, is beginning his attack on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Oh, and the dreaded (and not to mention enormous) monster Typhon is also heading our way. So it’s me and forty of my demigod friends versus untold evil…

Review:

From start to finish this YA novel is jammed front to back with action. There is nothing better then reaching a climatic scene and noticing that you are not even half way through the book yet, rather then the classic final battle scene in the last few chapters. Riordan has a unique writing skill for mixing fantasy, humour and teenage feelings on every page and have it flow consistently and effortlessly through the book.

The final book in the Percy Jackson series will not leave you disappointed as Riordan leaves no stone unturned and no question left unanswered. Percy and Annabeth face their greatest challenge yet, the final battle against the greatest evil and the choice between life and death.
