Review:
Liz Braswell honestly should be a permanent writer for Disney, her stories are edgy, inventive and twisted in a light way. I loved how the tale didn’t plan out as expected and the prince ends up falling asleep so the princess has to rescue herself. (hell yeahhhh we don’t need no man!!)
Even though we all know and love the characters, Braswell still proceeds to describe them and allow us to envision them in our minds as well as setting up the world. She never presumes that we have read them, she instead, as an author should, set up the world in our minds.
The story flowed perfectly as Aurora realises she is trapped in a dream and seeks to wake herself up while meeting Prince Philip along the way. I loved that Aurora was inventive and quick thinking and didn’t stand back in the shadow to wait for the Prince to think up an idea.
