Review:
Wow. Just wow! To Kill a Kingdom would have to be one of my favourite fantasy tales of the year. Seriously, if you do not own this book then you really need to. Buy this book. Read this book. Love this book.
Usually books from different point of views annoys me but not this book. You get the story from Lira, the siren princess and Elian’s, the siren hunter point of view on their journey together. Now I don’t plan to tell you more then what the blurb of the book gives you, so don’t panic I won’t ruin the book for you.
Let’s get to know our main characters.
Lira aka the Prince’s Bane is known for killing princes and taking their hearts. Yep that’s right ripping out royal hearts and keeping them. The Sea Queen, Lira rotten mother decides to punish her daughter and turn her into a human, and that’s how our two characters meet. Lira is strong, stubborn and determined human being (or rather siren being) and I love it! So witty, fun and not afraid to stand her ground. In other words, she is my dream female character.
Alright now let’s get the leading hunky guy. Elian is a prince that hunts sirens on a ship. That’s right ladies and gentleman he is a pirate! A pirate who is sassy, brave, daring and all kinds of funny. With witty remarks, caring heart and all round wonderful person, Elian is definitely the kinda guy you want to be reading about.
What is brilliant about this book is that I cannot fault it. The writing style is captivating. The characters are ticking all my needs and requirements: funny, brave, daring and a little bit of mischief.
Obviously, the fate of the universe compels them together on a journey filled with sassy comebacks, funny one-liners and adventure. However the question is, will the siren princess cut out this prince’s heart?
